A weekly late-night 90-minute American sketch comedy/variety show broadcast live from Studio 8H at the GE Building in New York's Rockefeller Center. The show is one of the longest-running network programs in American television history and and has launched careers for many major American comedy stars of the last thirty years.

It was created by Lorne Michaels, who, excluding seasons 6–10, has been with the show throughout, first as producer and writer and later its executive producer. SNL is one of the longest-running network programs in American television history. The first episode of the 35th season aired Saturday, September 26, 2009
