We learn right out of the gate that Jim has taken time from his other job in Philly to spend more time with Pam. And the time is quality. Pam's addition: A quality morning too. Things are going well for The Office's favorite couple.

The Office attempts to build 'Paper Airplanes'

It was a night of paper airplanes in The Office episode of the same name: “Paper Airplane” as the Dunder-Mifflin gang do an in-house paper airplane contest (going on company wide to support a new product that as Dwight (Rainn Wilson) states is harmful to the environment as it is made up of 60% plastic). Meanwhile Jim (John Krasinski) and Pam (Jenna Fischer) are doing their homework from couples counseling while Andy (Ed Helms) is excited over his new gig in an industrial workplace film.

The Office keeps chugging along to its finale and with two episodes left to go, “Paper Airplane”

Psych takes a bite out of some 'Lassie Jerky'

Wednesday was the premier of the third episode on USA Network’s hit series Psych titled “Lassie Jerky”, where it finds our heroes Shawn (James Roday) and Gus (Dulé Hill) who become part of a documentary being shot by a pair of college students who are looking for Bigfoot. Add a few bodies, a murder and maybe the mafia and do you have yourself a funny episode of Psych?

The answer is yes.

In an episode written and directed by star James Roday, it is a parody of films like Cloverfield and The Blair Witch Project. The episode “Lassie Jerky” is a perfect example

Go On with 'Any Given Birthday'

At first I was very concerned. The past few episodes of the new NBC comedy Go On starring Matthew Perry has been top-notch. It has never ‘not’ been entertaining, but at some point, there is going to be a weak link. There usually is in a freshman season. Yet…
-here I am. Typing up this review with nothing but some pure love for this show.
Perry’s former single camera comedy Mr. Sunshine suffered not from a lack of heart, but a lack of direction for some of the characters which made the comedy more miss than hit. Any heart the series seemed to

Up All Night rebuilds with 'Friendships & Partnerships'

What happens when you cancel the Ava show? That almost seems the real question of the episode titled “Friendships & Partnerships” of the recently retooled NBC series Up All Night. No longer is the Ava show a source of income for recent mommy Reagan (Christina Applegate) which is great because it allows her to spend more time with her husband and stay at home dad Chris (Will Arnett) and her daughter Amy. It is also bad though because gone is the five year plan they had set-up and discussed earlier in the series. And what will Ava (Maya Rudolph) do with

Louie embraces the 'Late Show'

(who won an Emmy for best-writing playing himself as the titular Louie) is offered the position of The Late Show with David Letterman since Letterman’s contract is up for renewal.
And like the tonight show, taking over the Late Show from Letterman is a dream come true. Maybe not as prolific as the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson (as it was once said no one can truly obtain his show anymore as it is damaged goods, it is Jay Leno’s

Fall 2012 First Thoughts: Taking a look at CBS' Partners

Our review of FX’s Wilfred right after we have a few words of wisdom from Malachy McCourt:
“Resentment is like taking poison & waiting for the other person to die.”
While Wilfred this week wasn’t as trippy as it can be, the episode was very well done, succinct and to the point. With Jenna (Fiona Gubelmann) and Drew (Chris Klein) tying the knot soon, Ryan (Elijah Wood) isn’t exactly excited, and as per Wilfred (Jason Gann), jealous of them.
Fall first thoughts 2012: NBC's Guys with Kids

The fall television season continues to chug along and are we a victim or are we the beneficiaries?
NBC premiered its new series last night titled Guys with Kids. The “Pilot” established the series as three 30-something dads struggle as parents because they are still children at heart. The 30-soemthing dads in question are the recently divorced/now single-dad Chris (Jesse Bradford), the father of four Gary (Anthony Anderson), and the oddly jovial Nick (Zach Cregger). And sometimes these dads go on adventures.
Fall first thoughts 2012: NBC's Revolution

Someday what if everything just stopped working? Like a giant EMP hit the entire planet Earth? It’s a valid question, one that goes up there with ‘what would you do during a zombie apocalyspe’. I mean, because if you stop and think about it, almost our entire way of life depends on electricity. So what would happen if one day that anything running via electricity just stopped working?
Doctor Who embraces coolness with 'Dinosaurs On a Spaceship'

While I enjoyed the heck out of the Russell T. The second episode of the seventh season (or series for those being particular) of Doctor Who titled “Dinosaurs on a Spaceship” is about a cool concept of dinosaurs. But then again, Kate isn’t exactly as together as she’d like you to believe either. Kate had an accident when she was younger, and that accident is now past five years old and named Maddie (Maggie Elizabeth Jones). With Kate getting close to finding her true love, will Ben’s sudden return throw Kate (and Maddie’s) life into turmoil?

First Thoughts: FOX's The Mindy Project

In the new FOX series “Pilot” of The Mindy Project, a young Ob/Gyn doctor named Mindy Lahiri (Mindy Kaling) who believes that love is like it is in romantic comedies tries to balance her personal and professional life, all whilst surrounded by quirky co-workers in her small doctor’s office. Some of her co-workers are Marc Shulman (Stephen Tobolowsky), Danny Castellano (Chris Messina), Jeremy Reed (Ed Weeks), Betsy Putch (Zoe Jarman) and Shauna Dicanio (Amanda Setton). And there is her best friend with a kid Gwen Grandy (Anna Camp). So how does The Mindy Project fare?

First Thoughts: NBC's The New Normal

Abnormal is the new normal, at least that is what tonight’s new NBC series The New Normal tries to tell us. In the “Pilot” episode with successful careers and a committed, loving partnership, Bryan (Andrew Rannells) and David (Justin Bartha) are missing only one thing: a baby. Could single mother Goldie Clemmons (Georgia King) from Ohio be just the surrogate mother they're searching for? And is the series from Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy any good?
We’ll get to the answer here in a second. So how does a girl from Ohio* get to be the surrogate for the new hopefully happy parents

As always Louie is a series that tends to ebb and flow with whatever comedian Louis C.K. wishes to tackle at the moment as continuity is never a strong suit of the series but this week continuity seem to be something the comedian/writer/director/actor wished to pursue.
In the first half of the episode, Louie deals with seeing Delores (Maria Dizzia) again who awkwardly had sex with him last season which ended with her balling up and crying her eyes up mid-coitus. Delores this time asks Louie to come to therapy

Futurama has 'Fun On A Bun'

I lamented in my review of the first two episodes (which made an hour long premiere) of Comedy Central’s Futurama that both episodes tried too hard to be something that was meant to stir up emotion when it comes to Fry and Leela. Then again, I think Futurama has always been keen on playing with the audiences emotions from “The Devil’s Hands Are Idle Playthings” to “Overclocked” , the show plays well with this concept from start to finish, other times, like in those first two episodes it is a case of so close but yet so far.

Yet, “The Six Million Dollar Mon” ends up being a pretty good episode of Comedy Central’s Futurama.

That is what Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) might as well be saying to Donna Paulsen (Sarah Rafferty) his now former secretary. In what was a fantastic hour of television, Suits ended the episode “Break Point” with big shot Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres) not only mincing words with co-partner Daniel Hardman (David Costabile) but by firing Donna herself.

Well, there are a few things though I take issue with.
In my last review of Covert Affairs I noted how the series felt it was positioning up Annie into a whole new ball game, as well as other characters, something that the show felt it had to try last year with mixed results. In the second episode titled “Sound

Futurama has 'The Thief of Baghead'

When Futurama does it right, it really does it right. Just like it did with its latest episode titled “The Thief of Baghead”.
In my previous review of Futurama which was the hour-long premiere made of two episodes, Futurama of any sort is better than no Futurama at all, but for as much as the show was trying to pull on our heart strings, it felt false or coming up a bit short. In a way, the episodes felt like they were trying too hard to being something akin to “Jurassic Bark” or “The Devil’s Hands Are Idle Playthings” and just really

It’s the 'Dawn of the Med' on Royal Pains

Well lookie here: the zombies are coming to the Hamptons. But more on that in a second. Thanks to Divya (Reshma Shetty), Eddie R. Lawson (Henry Winkler) returns for realsies this time in the latest Royal Pains episode titled “Dawn of the Med”. Eddie’s goal: to bring Hank (Mark Feuerstein) and Evan (Paulo Costanzo) Lawson back together. As Divya and Paige (Brooke D'Orsay) hope that Eddie’s return to the Hamptons brings prosperity back to HankMed, Divya attempts again to reconnect with her mother. On the surface things seemed to go ‘too easy’ for Hank and Evan, as by episode’s end, HankMed

Suits wants you to 'Meet the New Boss'

Rumors of his death or lack of interest in the firm has been greatly exaggerated. At least that is what Hardman (David Costabile) would probably say. Yes, Hardman is officially back at the firm in the third episode of USA Network’s Suits episode titled “Meet the New Boss”. As Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres) and Harvey Spencer (Gabriel Macht) scatter for a line of defense especially after being at odds due to Harvey’s play in the previous episode. As Mike deals with the blow-out of his relationship with Rachel (Meghan Markle) which he wasn’t ready to give up necessarily, Hardman tightens his

HBO's The Newsroom - 'We Just Decide To'

It was an evening of harsh truths from those the people look up to. At least that is what The Newsroom on HBO has you believe. In the series which premiered last Sunday with the episode “We Just Decided To”, we are in the opening throws of the frustrations and machinations of Will McAvoy played by Jeff Daniels. McAvoy in recent years have become ‘soft’ and just indifferent to his news program ‘NewsNight’ which he anchors. During a panel with two other anchors for the television network news program, McAvoy sits, quietly annoyed and aggravated but plays up the role of

Royal Pains has 'A Guesthouse Divided'

Eddie Lawson aka Henry Winkler returns in Wednesday night’s latest episode of USA Network’s Royal Pains titled “A Guesthouse Divided”. The heat is on as Evan (Paulo Costanzo) and Hank (Mark Feuerstein) begin actively compete for clients as Jill (Jill Flint) is given a farewell party, and Divya (Reshma Shetty) tries her best to reunite Evan and Hank into HankMed while she begins working for both brothers as signs of a illnesses may be related.

Well, let’s be honest about Winkler’s return: it is quick and doesn’t appear until the very end of the episode. The bulk of the episode deals with

Suits goes back and forth on 'The Choice'

USA Network was looking sharp with Thursday night’s episode of Suits titled “The Choice”. In the previous episode which was the second season opener, Mike (Patrick J. Adams) was able to finally listen to drunk voice mail of Rachel (Meghan Markle) declaring her feelings for him. So “The Choice” picks up the next day with Mike confronting Rachel as Harvey (Gabriel Macht) tries to help Jessica (Gina Torres) with gaining support from board members as Hardman’s return grows closer.

It was another fantastic evening of television all around, as Suits really is taking the format of the USA Network case of the

Wilfred tries to make 'Progress'

Wilfred on FX which premiered a sneak peak Thursday night although the normal second season doesn’t ‘officially’ begin until June 28th, begged the question which is real? I’ll break on through to the other side right after I question my sanity.

Wilfred last left us with the question of what was real? What wasn’t real? We already knew that Ryan (Elijah Wood) didn’t really kill himself as the pills he tried to use were all placebos. So what about Wilfred (Jason Gann) himself? Ryan sees a man in a dog suit while everyone else sees a dog. Or at least we think

Girls ends season one with "She Did”

I’ll get to review the season finale of HBO’s Girls right after I wipe the tears from my eyes after witnessing something real and raw and honest like Adam did at that surprise wedding.
Sunday evening on HBO ended the first season of HBO’s Girls created by Lena Dunham (who also stars and executive produces it with Judd Apatow) with the episode titled “She Did”. Hannah (Dunham) begins to question her relationship with her boyfriend Adam as Marnie lets it all go during a party that Jessa is throwing. Shoshanna meanwhile benefits from her unique personality and characteristics. So how was the

Royal Pains deals with an "Imperfect Storm"

For audience members there is nothing like a pleasant Wednesday nights in the Hampton’s on USA Network’s Royal Pains. The characters might not necessarily agree with that statement as in the latest episode “Imperfect Storm” with Hank Lawson (Mark Feuerstein) and Evan Lawson (Paulo Costanzo) still at odds with each other, pitting Hank’s new medical practice against a Evan-run HankMed, it is anything but pleasant. As Evan tries to secure a new client, Jill Casey (Jill Flint) needs Hank to treat her newphew while Divya (Reshma Shetty) must make a difficult decision. And how does the new guy, Dr. Jeremiah Sacani

Necessary Roughness tires "To Swerve and Protect"

Dr. Dani (Callie Thorne) has a lot on her plate with USA Network’s Wednesday night episode of Necessary Roughness titled “To Swerve and Protect”. When a star of the roller derby rink collapses, there is only one person to call: Dr. Santino! As Dani tries to help the roller derby star, her son Ray Jay (Patrick Johnson) has a fight with new girlfriend while T.K. (Mehcad Brooks)is faced with a difficult choice to make. So how does the second episode of the second season of Necessary Roughness fare?
