Say it isn't so! After just one season on the air, it was confirmed to E! News on Wednesday that "The Jeff Probst Show" has been cancelled.

It was "Survivor" host Jeff Probst's first attempt at a daytime talk show. Earlier this year, it was announced that Ricki Lake's newest daytime talk show was also cancelled, making Katie Couric's daytime show one of the only new shows (along with Steve Harvey's) from this past Fall to get picked up for a second season.

"The Jeff Probst Show" just couldn't find a strong viewership, averaging only 950,000 viewers through the show's first 100 episodes, when it debuted this past September. Reportedly, the show will continue to broadcast and produce new episodes through May, with re-runs airing through the Summer.

In a statement from Variety, a CTD spokesperson said the following:

"We believe Jeff is an incredible talent, and that he and his dedicated producing team delivered quality episodes throughout the season. Unfortunately, the audience isn't there to support a second year. We are grateful to the entire staff, our affiliate partners and advertisers for their ongoing support of 'The Jeff Probst Show.' Production and broadcast of original episodes will continue through the current season."

Probst had this to say about the cancellation, according to the same Variety article:

"I'm super bummed but extremely proud. The truth is all shows come to an end. Ours just ended a decade sooner than we had hoped."

Hopefully he doesn't mean "all shows" come to an end right? Not "Survivor," right? Although no official announcement has been made, there are plans for a 27th and 28th season (Season 26, "Survivor: Caramoan" just premiered on Wednesday, the same day the news of "The Jeff Probst Show" cancellation was announced). Popular belief is that "Survivor" will remain on the air at least through a 30th season.
