How I Met Your Mother Renewed For Season 9 By CBS

How I Met Your Mother is coming back, for a 9th and final? Season. As reported by Deadline the negotiations went into the 11th hour, until Jason Segel decided to sign for a 9th season.
CBS has been wanting a 9th season of HIMYM for a while, this Summer, CBS's entertainment president Nina Tassler said “We want the show to come back next year,”. As the show was due to end with season 8, due the expiring contracts of the cast and creators. Understandably the creators wanted to know the future of the show in good time. In order to do the final revel of the mother justice.
Season 8 is currently airing in the US on CBS, Mondays at 8/7c and the winter finale pulled in a 6% increase on the week before.
While UK fans are still waiting for the How I Met Your Mother season 8 première on E4, we are expecting it late January or February. I would also expect to see How I Met Your Mother season 9 coming to E4 in late 2013 or early 2014.
