Are you ready for the return of Dallas to the TV screen? Well you don't have long to wait. Dallas will premier on Channel 5 on Wednesday 5th September at 9PM.

Dallas' return comes courtesy of TNT and is not a remake but a revival of the original show. This series contains 10 episodes, and has been a bit hit in the US with TNT having already renewed it for a 2nd season which will air in the US next year. Filmed on location at Southfork and around Dallas, the US premier secured the highest ratings for a premiere of a scripted series on a cable channel this year.

Episode 1 “Changing of the Guard ” picks up 21 years after we last saw the Ewings, during it's phenomenal success during the 80's and 90's. Directed by Michael M Robin , we are introduced to a new generation of feuding Ewings. A few things have changed, of course. Miss Ellie has gone to the great ranch in the sky, but not before extracting a promise from Bobby never to allow drilling on Southfork land. JR is in a rest home, suffering from clinical depression and his long-suffering ex, Sue Ellen, is now a prosperous businesswoman in her own right and is even standing for election as a state governor.

Dallas Cast

Revelations, double-crosses, thrusts and counter-thrusts come thick and fast in this opening episode as the opposing Ewings become locked in a battle to save or sell Southfork. Best of all, the new battle revives the old JR, who has lost none of his ruthlessness or cunning. His son is very wise not to trust him...

Most of all remember “Blood is thicker than water, but oil is thicker than both”.
