Line of Duty renewed for a 2nd, 5 episode series by BBC 2

BBC 2 have renewed Line of Duty for a 2nd series of 5 episodes. Line of Duty's 5 episode 1st series achieved record viewing figures. With last night's episode achieving 3.3 million viewers to see the climax of the investigation into DCI Tony Gates. Over the 5 episodes Line of Duty achieved the best ratings for a new series on BBC2 since Rome in 2005.
Line of Duty created by Jed Mercurio the cat-and-mouse thriller took a probing look into modern policing by following one multi-stranded investigation over five hours. With an electric performance from Lennie James, and two of the most exciting talents in British TV - Martin Compston and Vicky McClure – who played the relentless anti-corruption officers on his trail. alongside a brilliant supporting cast including Gina McKee, Neil Morrissey, Adrian Dunbar, Kate Ashfield, Craig Parkinson and Paul Higgins.
