This Sunday sees Veep have its premier on HBO. Veep is a HBO television comedy series set in the office of a fictional U.S. vice president. The program is created by Armando Iannucci. It was originally intended to be a remake of his BBC television Satirical Mockumentary The Thick of It, but he decided it should be an original series made in the same style.

The show centres on former Senator Selina Meyer (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) who finds being Vice President of the United States is nothing like she expected and everything everyone ever warned about. Veep also sees Anna Chlumsky return as Chief of Staff, Amy Brookheimer. You may remember Chlumsky as the former child star of nineties films My Girl and its sequel My Girl 2.

The Veep cast also includes:

  • Tony Hale as Gary Walsh, Vice President Selina Meyer's bodyguard.
  • Matt Walsh as Mike McClintock, Director of Communications.
  • Reid Scott as Dan Egan, Deputy Director of Communications at the White House.
  • Sufe Bradshaw as Sue Wilson, executive assistant to the Vice President.

Veep is set to premiere on HBO on Sunday April 22nd, 2012 at 10PM, and will be shown in the UK on Sky Atlantic in June.

See if Veep is your kind of show with this trailer.
