On December 22, 2011, Melanie Amaro was crowned the X Factor U.S. winner.  The announcement was made during a 2-hour special, star packed finale that reunited previous contestants such as Drew with celebrities like Justin Bieber.  The show was down to the final three: Melanie Amaro, Josh Krajcik, and Chris Rene.  The three gave it everything they had as they fought for the title and a $5 million Sony music record deal.  Chris Rene was first to be eliminated leaving Josh and Melanie on the platform.

During the final live performances on December 21, 2011, the contestants were paired with celebrities and performed duets.  Josh Krajcik performed with Alanis Morissette, Chris Rene performed with Avril Lavigne, and Melanie Amaro performed with R Kelly.  Following the duets, the contestants performed one final song.  Josh Krajcik performed “At Last,” Chris Rene performed his original song “Young Homie” and Melanie Amaro sang “Listen.”

Melanie Amaro became emotional when she won and during her final song, had to stop singing several times, as she continued to cry tears of joy and amazement.

Keep an eye out for Melanie Amaro, as she will star in an iconic Pepsi commercial that promises to deliver.

Here are videos from X Factor US from the finale.
