Saturday Night Live saw their best ratings since May 2010, and it appears they have Katy Perry to thank.  Katy Perry hosted the show on December 10, 2011 with musical guest star Robyn and together they swept the competing networks.  The show received a 2.5 rating which indicates approximately 7.0 million total views.  It matched the episode with Justin Timberlake and musical guest Lady Gaga from May 21, 2011.

Katy Perry scored rave reviews for her performance as Florence from Florence and the Machine where she sang, “The Dog Trial is Over.”  The skit was titled “Doggie Duty” and featured the cast mimicking celebrities as they paid homage to the dogs.

Katy Perry also played the role of Pippa Middleton in a skit focusing on rumors that Kate Middleton may be pregnant.  From there, Katy went on to portray Kelly O’Donnell, the MSNBC Correspondent.  If you missed SNL on December 10, 2011, you may watch it in the video player below.
