Dexter finale underway as Showtime announces two more seasons main image

Showtime’s Dexter is preparing for their season six finale in what some are saying is one of their best seasons to date.  Any true Dexter fan will tell you that season 4 was jam packed with excitement as John Lithgow shone as the Trinity Killer.  Season five left some fans begging for mercy, as they simply were not feeling the Julia Stiles/Lumen connection.  However, many will gladly report that Showtime is forgiven of any previous mistakes as season 6 delivered awesome changes, worked through a real life divorce without any contention that came through the characters, and has delivered a whopper of a cliffhanger.  Will Dexter lose Harrison the way he lost Rita?

Though some cable series are having a tough time hanging in there these days, Showtime announced we could expect to see more of Dexter as they have ordered two additional seasons.  Showtime has not stated that season eight will be the series finale.  How long can Dexter continue his vigilante killings?

As long as Showtime and Michael C. Hall can continue to negotiate, we are sure the fans are willing to go all the way.

Do not miss Dexter’s season six finale, which airs on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at 9:00 pm.  Check out some previews of the season finale below.
