NBC announced they are replacing their Social Media Correspondent, Alison Haislip, with American singer and actress Christina Milian for the second season of their hit show “The Voice.”  A reason for Haislip’s departure has not been given.

NBC President of Alternative and Late Night Programming Paul Telegdy released a statement regarding Milian’s addition, “Christina's extensive musical background and widespread recognition make her the perfect choice for the role of Social Media Correspondent on ‘The Voice.’  Her experience as a singer will provide a comfort level to our artists when they speak to her about the ins and outs of the competition. She is a hugely valuable addition as we prepare for another spectacular season."

“The Voice” is patterned after “The Voice of Holland” and features four musical coaches that select teams consisting of contestant hoping to be America’s next “voice.”  The four coaches train with their team members, until they perform live and America votes for their favorite contestants.  The four judges from season one will return to the show when season two premieres on February 5, 2012.  The judges are Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.

Christina Milian will host backstage interviews, provide updates on the second season’s contestants through social media networking sites like Facebook and Twitter.
