Fox has renewed “The Simpsons” for two additional seasons making the 2013-2014 25th season the longest running scripted season in television history.  The show has won 27 Emmys and it’s hard to believe that the nation as introduced to “The Simpsons” back in 1989.  The show is preparing to achieve another milestone as in February 2012, they will celebrate their 500th episode.  “The Simpsons” will also feature an all new episode in lieu of Halloween on Sunday, October 30, 2011 with an episode titled, “Treehouse of Horrors XXII.”  “The Simpsons” airs from 8:00-8:30 pm, ET/PT.  The arrangement came after a battle between the network and cast regarding a pay dispute.

According to reports by the “Hollywood Reporter,” the deal involves a pay cut for the actors and they are to receive approximately $300,000 per episode, though this has not been confirmed by Fox.  It is unclear whether the 25th season will be the show’s last, but as for now, fans of the animated series can relax knowing they have two more seasons.
