Showtime announced they will renew their hit series “Shameless” for a second season premiering in 2012.  “Shameless” stars William H. Shameless premiered on January 9, 2011 and became Showtime’s best performing new series ever.   John Wells serves as executive producer and has credits such as “Southland,” “The West Wing,” and “ER” under his belt.  Speaking about the second season he stated, “We're delighted that our wonderful partners at SHOWTIME are giving us the opportunity to make additional episodes of SHAMELESS.  We're having an unbelievably good time making the show and look forward to bringing more of the humor, pathos, and wild sexuality of the dysfunctional Gallagher family to a shocked American audience.”

“Shameless” averaged approximately 4million viewers per week placing it second to Dexter which averages 5.2 million per week.  You may watch a video interview with John Wells where he discusses the season finale of “Shameless” as well as the first full episode in the video below.  “Shameless” is for mature audiences and you must enter your date of birth in order to view the episode.
