CBS comes in as most watched network for 2010-2011 season by viewers main image


CBS maintains its lead as the most watched network in television and has kept the title for its fifth consecutive year in total viewers.  This marks a total of eight wins in nine years.  In addition to total viewership, CBS also came in second in viewers for adult viewers between the ages of 18 and 49.  CBS has claimed the top spot due to many of their popular programs including “The Big Bang Theory,” “NCIS,” “Two and a Half Men,” and “Criminal Minds.”


CBS also has the top programming lineup with hits every day of the week including “Two and a Half Men” on Monday, “NCIS” on Tuesday, “Criminal Minds” on Wednesday, “The Mentalist” on Thursday, “Blue Bloods” on Friday, Crimetime” on Saturday, “CSI: Miami” on Sundays.


Some of CBS’ feats include having more winning shows than the other networks combined and had seven programs in the top twenty of all networks top shows.  Four of the top ten programs are CBS Shows.  CBS also saw the most increase in DVR viewing with an increase of 1.16 million viewers who played back programs within seven days.  IN DVR playbacks, CBS has four programs in the top ten list: “Hawaii Five-O,” “The Mentalist,” “Blue Bloods,” and “Criminal Minds.”

This will be CBS’ ninth consecutive year winning May sweeps as they have won ten times out of eleven years.
