CBS has canceled two of their new shows, “$#*! My Dad Says” and “The Defenders,” both shows were in their first season.  “$#*! My Dad Says” featured William Shatner as Ed, a 72-year-old divorced father of two adult sons who continually went on verbal rants, the majority of which were offensive, politically incorrect, yet comical and entertaining.  “$#*! My Dad Says premiered on September 23, 2010 and its final episode aired on February 17, 2011.

“The Defenders” premiered on September 22, 2010 and aired its final episode on March 11, 2011.  The show featured Jerry O’Connell as Pete Kaczmarek and James Belushi as Nick Morelli.  The two played partners in a law firm.   “The Defenders” first moved from their Wednesday night timeslot to Fridays before it was announced that the show had been canceled.

“$#*! My Dad Says” opened to critical acclaim and saw 12.5 million viewers before views dropped to 9.8 million viewers.  “The Defenders” never saw the success that “$#*! My Dad Says” saw and averaged approximately 8 million viewers.

The news of the cancellations has taken many by surprise.  Are you disappointed that the shows have been cancelled?
