On Thursday, March 31, 2011, Fox premiered the first episode of the new Howie Mandel show “Mobbed,” to critics rave reviews.  After premiering to the most watched unscripted telecast since American idol in two years, Fox announced the show would go for at least eight more episodes.

President of Alternative Entertainment of Fox Broadcasting Company Mike Darnell stated, “Mobbed exceeded our expectations in every way last night.  The show clearly connected with viewers, and we look forward to working with Howie and his team as they travel across the country to capture more of the shocking surprises, grand-scale performances and extraordinarily heartfelt moments featured in the first episode.”

Howie Mandel serves as executive producer over the show that focuses on filming individuals as they plan extraordinary surprises for friends and loved ones.  The show focuses on the events that transpire behind the scenes to make life altering announcements as hidden cameras continue rolling, detailing every step.  Howie Mandel released a statement discussing the project, “Doing this project was a huge undertaking – it was like doing television without a net.  And I can't tell you how thrilled I am that FOX is giving us an opportunity to keep pushing the envelope.”

Mobbed airs on Thursday nights from 9:00 pm until 10:00 pm.
