In fact, these same catastrophes that devastated life on Earth also helped bring about its evolution from the simplest microbes to the complexity and diversity that is found on the planet today. Monster Garage

Monster Garage logoMonster Garage is a game show where a group of people who have a passion for building, modifying, or fabricating cars get the chance to create a vehicle that can transform into a completely different machine. If the build is successful, the build crew gets a tool chest with $3,400 worth of Mac tools. Later add-ons to the prize, Monster Garage soundtrack CD, and occasionally (to some of the builders who go above and beyond) a Monster Garage jacket. If the build is a failure, host Jesse James feeds it to a shredder. James got his Discovery Channel fame by being chronicled in Motorcycle Mania and Motorcycle Mania 2. In Monster Garage, he is practically involved in every build; from design, construction (or destruction), and the Monster Challenge.

Moon Machines

Moon Machines logoThe right tools for the job... The U.S. Moon missions would never have gotten 10 feet off the ground without the pioneering engineers and manufacturers and the amazing machines they created that turned science fiction into history-making headlines. From nuts and bolts to rockets and life support systems, every piece of gear was custom made from scratch to perform cutting-edge scientific tasks while withstanding the violent rigors of space travel. Now here's your chance to climb aboard the capsule, put on a spacesuit and learn the real stories behind the right stuff.

More Industrial Revelations

More Industrial Revelations logoYou may know him from the Fast Show as one of the "Suits You Sir" fellas and (my favourite) the character who "This week has mostly been eating... armadillos". He really brings the subject to life, and would definitely be something to look forward to for kids who have boring history teachers. The first series charted the progress of the Industrial Revolution from water wheels, canals, iron bridges, right up to the invention of the steam train and the creation of our railway networks. This second series looks at specific inventions, technologies and their impact. If it is anywhere near as good as the first series, it will be well worth watching. I think that tonight's episodes are about hats and beer. Which is nice.

Most Evil

Most Evil logoMost Evil is an American forensics television program on the Discovery Channel starring forensic psychiatrist Dr. Michael Stone from Columbia University. On the show, Dr. Michael Stone rates murderers on a scale of evil that he developed.

Motor City Motors

Motor City Motors logoMotor City Motors follows renowned fabricators and custom-bike builders Dave and James Kaye, founders of Detroit Bros. Custom Cycles. Watch each week as the brothers — with their father, John — tap into the Detroit-based talent and assemble a team of builders and specialists. Together they push the boundaries of automotive engineering to create one-of-a-kind vehicles — with a five-day limit for each build. From turning a 1929 Model T into one of the coolest gassers in the city to transforming a 1992 GMC Suburban into a pothole filler, the builds are limited only by the ingenuity and imagination of the Detroit Brothers and their crews. The Kayes hope the series gives the local community, as well as their own struggling business, a much-needed boost.
